Debuting in the EYBL after winning the 2015 adidas Gauntlet, the RENS went 2-1 in the hometown session of Brooklyn, losing a close battle to fellow New York City powerhouse PSA Cardinals. Undeterred by that loss, the RENS went 3-1 in Indy, including two one-point wins and the Indianapolis Game of the Session. They proved that they belong and more, and led by MVP candidate Hamidou Diallo, they will be competitive in every game they play in from here on out.

Diallo (20.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 2.0 APG, 2.0 SPG) is a flat-out stud, and the first two sessions cemented the fact that he'll have his choice of any school he wants to attend. The 6-foot-6 guard has a refined offensive game, defends like hell and dunks like Shaq. He may very well be the best guard prospect in the country, and he had his cape on during the RENS comeback win over the St. Louis Eagles. You can't say enough good things about the Putnam Science Academy (Connecticut) product, but one thing is for sure; he's in the short list for Most Valuable Player.

6-foot-7 swingmen Jordan Nwora and Jordan Tucker have combined to hit 32 three-pointers on the season, and both are versatile enough to beat you in other ways. The offers are loading up for both Jordan's, and their continued adjustment playing alongside their superstar will do wonders for their season long success. Jose Alvarado has proven to be an absolute floor general for head coach Andy Borman. His presence keeps the RENS steady and the rest of the offensive options well-fed. The RENS play a fairly small rotation, in size not personnel. Backup big man Greg Calixte is efficient offensively (66.7 FG%) and Samson George (4.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG) plays big minutes in the frontcourt, and both are capable of contributing more. They need their 7-footer Chris Efretuei to get more comfortable, as the RENS currently have no alternative to playing on the smaller end.

The RENS should be feeling great about their standing after two session. Diallo has been better than advertised, and the supporting cast has excelled around him. The rest of the schedule is far from easy, but with their talent and chemistry, the RENS should feel comfortable about their Peach Jam chances come Atlanta. This is one of the most well-run programs in America, and there is no reason to think they won't continue their upward trend.
