AJ Hoggard

Team: PSA Cardinals (NY)

EYBL Atlanta Statistics: 19.0 PPG, 55 FG%, 70% FT, 4.2 APG, 2.8 RPG, 1.0 SPG

Class: Junior (2020)

Height: 6-foot-4

For the first time in three seasons, the PSA Cardinals entered a season without the services of star guard Cole Anthony. The No. 1 ranked 2019 guard was replaced by 6-foot-4 floor general AJ Hoggard, and PSA did not skip a beat. Hoggard guided the Cardinals to a 3-1 session record, averaging 19.0 points on 54.9 percent shooting. The Huntington Prep (WV) product also chipped in 4.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. His play left head coach Munch Williams impressed.

"In Atlanta, (AJ) played a major role in getting us off to a great start to the EYBL season," Williams said, "At the same time, he was able to showcase himself as one of the best players on the circuit."

Hoggard plays extremely well with fellow juniors Hassan Diarra (15.2 PPG) and Jamal Mashburn Jr (16.8 PPG), and the trio makes a case for a top-five backcourt in the league.

If PSA keeps winning and Hoggard keeps improving his individual stock, Williams will be pleased.

"Needless to say, that's a win-win situation for PSA."

Paolo Banchero

Team: Seattle Rotary Style

EYBL Atlanta Statistics: 19.0 PPG, 27-34 FT, 11.0 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.5 BPG, 3.0 TOPG

Class: Sophomore (2021)

Height: 6-foot-9

Paolo Banchero was a rare impact-freshman during Seattle Rotary Style’s Peach Jam qualifying season in 2018. Banchero played like an experienced veteran at EYBL Atlanta, averaging 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks while helping guide Rotary to a 3-1 session record.

“I thought he was consistent and efficient,” said Seattle Rotary program Director Daryll Hennings. “He's gotten stronger and he is paying a lot more attention to detail defensively, which was a huge benefit to our overall team success.”

Banchero will look to continue his uptick in production and leadership when Rotary heads to EYBL Indianapolis. D1’s Alle Krings caught up with Banchero in Atlanta:

Cam Thomas

Team: Boo Williams (VA)

EYBL Atlanta Statistics:  26.8 PPG, 49.3 FG%, 12-24 3PT, 1.8 RPG, 1.5 SPG, 2.8 TOPG

Class: Junior (2020)

Height: 6-foot-4

Cam Thomas was on fire in Atlanta. The Oak Hill (VA) product averaged 26 a game for the Warriors this past high school season and the 6-foot-4 junior continued the offensive onslaught into the EYBL. Thomas went 12-for-24 from distance, rarely taking a bad shot in the process.

ESPN's Paul Biancardi broke it down Thomas' game simply.

"What makes him such a great scorer is three things," Biancardi said. "He has great toughness. He has great preparation on his shot. He has great confidence."

All three traits held true in Atlanta as Thomas was on fire for the historic Virginia-based program.

DJ Steward

Team: MeanStreets (IL)

EYBL Atlanta Statistics:  21.0 PPG, 51.7 FG%, 41.2 3PT%, 4.5 RPG, 4.2 APG, 2.0 SPG

Class: Junior (2020)

Height: 6-foot-4

DJ Steward’s stock was already trending ‘up’ before the EYBL season tipped off, and he managed to raise it even higher at EYBL Atlanta. The MeanStreets junior averaged 19.5 points on 57.5 percent shooting, 3.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 turnovers per game en route to a 2-2 session record. Gifted with natural scoring ability and elite athleticism, Steward is a smooth, efficient scorer from all three levels and has the ability to take over a game. A product hailing from powerhouse Whitney Young (IL) high school, Steward was consistent over the four-game stretch while adding a couple of game-changing plays in their Battle For Chicago win over Mac Irvin. Steward needs to be at the top of his game in order for MeanStreets to be competitive, and head coach Tai Streets knows that he has a confident leader at the top of his backcourt rotation. Steward is a contender for All-EYBL honors with every session stop, and he’ll look to stay hot at EYBL Indianapolis.

Daeshun Ruffin

Team: MEBO Team Hood (MS)

EYBL Atlanta Statistics:  27.5 PPG, 25-33 FT, 15 3PTM (40.5 3PT%), 3.3 RPG, 3.8 APG, 2.0 SPG, 4.0 TOPG

Class: Junior (2021)

Height: 5-foot-10

Story: Daeshun Ruffin named 2019 Nike EYBL Atlanta Underclassman of the Session.
